On Being a Dentist
Since beginning my dental education at Peking University School of Dentistry in 1991, I have taken my responsibilities as a dentist very seriously. It’s important to me that every patient understands how to maintain excellent dental health. My staff and I take the time to educate our patients and develop care plans that meet their individual needs. We want every patient to enjoy a healthy mouth and a great smile!
I know some patients feel anxious about visiting the dentist. That’s why I provide gentle, comfortable care in a warm and welcoming environment. I always work at a pace that feels comfortable for each patient, taking time to discuss their concerns and offer reassurance and encouragement. It’s especially rewarding to see a patient who was once fearful leave with a smile and feel confident about the care they received.
I value the relationships I build with my patients. Getting to know their lives and interests, and sharing stories about their experiences, are some of the most rewarding parts of being a dentist. Over time, we often develop close relationships, and I look forward to each visit as an opportunity to hear about their families and what’s happening in their lives.

Throughout the year, I attend seminars and conferences both to present my research, which has appeared in peer-reviewed journals, and to learn from other professionals.

Away from the Office
